Qualified Social Worker – Leaving Care (16+) – South London Role:  Qualified Social Worker   Location:  South London Team: Leaving Care (16+) Pay:  up to £37 per hour Contract: Full-Time Locum OFSTED: Good In the office: Hybrid We are looking for an experienced social worker to work within a Leaving Care Service (16+) in South London. The experienced social worker would be required to hold a caseload between 16 to 18. You must have experience in working with young people from the age of 16 who are looked after. Your practice must be effective, exercising high-quality judgements in situations of increasing complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge, acting with confidence and considerable autonomy whilst accessing and using support and advice. You must have developed your ability to assess situations effectively in their field/s, determine which interventions, knowledge and skills should be deployed, and can anticipate the possible progress of issues and options without pre-judging. You must aim to integrate professional knowledge, the views of people using services and research/evaluation evidence in your practice. As an experienced social worker, there would be a great opportunity for you to progress to the next grade which is the Advanced Social Worker level. As a local authority they would like to see their social workers moving up the ladder to become Practice Educators, Deputy Team managers and Team managers. About You We are looking for confident social workers, who are also: • Qualified and registered Social Worker who is Social Work England registered, and has completed your AYSE • Experienced in making assessments, implementing plans and delivering interventions • Skilled in managing complex cases and competent in presenting cases in court with demonstrable professionalism and empathy • Your experience of working in a statutory setting is desirable but not essential • You must be able to use your knowledge and skills to take more initiative and continue to broaden and deepen your repertoire of responses. • You must have expertise in one or more areas of practice, and be familiar with and linked to local and national resource networks. • You must be recognised by peers and those in other professions as a source of reliable knowledge and advice. • You would routinely evaluate the quality and impact (outcomes) of your own practice and that of your team/service. • You would apply and promote the Code of Ethics, regulatory and policy standards for practice, and continue to pursue continuing professional development and to deepen capability in all domains of the PCF.
