Role: Assistant Team Manager – Children in Care
Location: Havering, London
Team: Children in Care (CIC)
Pay: Up to £40.50 per hour
Contract: 3-month Locum (with potential extension)
In the office: Hybrid – 3/2 split, duty weeks in office

We are working with a supportive and forward-thinking Local Authority in Havering looking for an Assistant Team Manager (ATM) to join their Children in Care (CIC) team. If you are passionate about leading and supporting social workers to improve outcomes for children and young people in care, this could be the role for you!

This team focuses on Children in Care and Looked After Children, ensuring they receive the best possible support, pathway planning, and interventions to help them thrive. Havering is known for its dedicated leadership team and excellent transport links, making it a great place to work.

You’ll need to be an experienced Social Worker with a strong background in leadership, case management, and court and care proceedings, ready to support your team and drive high-quality practice.

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Social Work Qualification
• At least 3 years’ experience in Children’s Services, including statutory work and assessments
• Experience in court/care proceedings case management
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Working Model:

• Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home)
• Duty week in-office requirement
• Flexible working from our town hall campus/hubs
• Face-to-face meetings with children and families to ensure the best engagement and support
