Children Social Worker

Dorset Council are looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Children with Disability Team. This is a Full-Time Locum Social Work role based in Westport House, Wareham.

About The Team:

This team support children with disabilities and their families across East Dorset and Purbeck. Their main focus is to assess needs, develop care plans, coordinate services, and work with multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop care plans.
• Manage a caseload of up to 18 children (CP, CIN, CIC cases).
• Provide direct support and advocate for children and families.
• Engage in multi-agency working with Health, SEN, ID CAMHS, CAMHS, and MH
• settings.
• Handle safeguarding concerns and conduct Section 47 investigations.
• Apply the Mental Capacity Act for children aged 16+.
• Maintain accurate case records and reports.

About You:

To apply for this role you will need least 3 years post qual experience working with disabled children or young adults. Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and short break procedures. BA(Hons) in Social Work and to be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
