Service Area: Children’s Social Care – Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

Southwark’s MASH is the vital first point of contact for safeguarding concerns about children and young people. We’re looking for an experienced and decisive Team Manager to lead this high-performing, multi-agency service – ensuring children receive the right help at the right time.

The Role

As MASH Team Manager, you will:

• Provide clear, visible leadership to a team of Social Workers, Contact Officers and Business Support staff.

• Maintain high-quality management oversight, ensuring timely and robust safeguarding decisions.

• Oversee day-to-day operations, managing workloads and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Build and sustain strong working relationships with partner agencies including health, education, and the police to deliver a coordinated, effective response.

• Monitor performance indicators and drive service improvements across the front door.

About You

We are seeking someone who:

• Is a qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.

• Has proven management experience, ideally within a MASH or similar safeguarding setting.

• Brings strong decision-making skills under pressure, balancing risk and need effectively.

• Has a track record of supervising and developing diverse, multi-disciplinary teams.

• Thrives in a dynamic, high-volume environment where priorities can change rapidly.
