The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking an experienced and dynamic Qualified Social Work Practice Manager to help manage their Children with Disabilities Team. This role offers a competitive rate of up to £40.50 per hour and is a key opportunity for a strong leader to contribute to delivering outstanding services to children and young people with disabilities, aged 0-25.

About the Role:

As an Assistant Team Manager (Practice Manager) within the Children with Disabilities Team, you will hold a reduced caseload while also providing management oversight for up to two social workers. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring disabled children and young people receive the services they need to achieve positive outcomes. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary services, including Children’s Occupational Therapy, Short Breaks, and SEND services, to deliver a coordinated approach to support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a reduced caseload while providing management oversight and supervision to up to two social workers.
  • Ensure that disabled children and young people have access to high-quality services that meet their individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary services, including Children’s Occupational Therapy, Short Breaks, social care, and SEND teams.
  • Oversee the implementation of care plans and interventions that promote the well-being and development of disabled children and young people.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and service development within the team and across the borough.

Requirements:

  • Qualified social worker with experience in children's services, particularly in working with children with disabilities and SEND.
  • Social Work England registered.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in management or practice leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, disability services, and the needs of children with SEND.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
