Role: Qualified Children's Social Worker
Location: Coalville, Leicestershire
Team: Safeguarding Team
Pay: Up to £38 per hour
Contract: Locum – Full-time

We’re looking for a Qualified Children’s Social Worker to join the Safeguarding Team in Coalville, part of Leicestershire County Council. This full-time locum role focuses on safeguarding children and young people, progressing cases through to court where required.

You’ll carry a varied caseload of child protection and children in need cases, working closely with families and partner agencies to assess risk, implement effective plans, and achieve the best outcomes. Strong court work experience is essential, as you'll be preparing and presenting evidence in proceedings and contributing to robust care planning under tight statutory timescales.

This is a busy team looking for someone confident, experienced, and able to make sound decisions under pressure while maintaining a child-centred approach.

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration

• Social Work Qualification

• At least 3 years’ experience in child protection and court work

• Experience in writing court reports and giving evidence in court

• Strong risk assessment and multi-agency working skills

• Flexibility to travel locally when required
