Manchester City Council is looking for a dedicated and experienced Qualified Children's Team Manager to join their Duty and Assessment Service. This is a fast-paced frontline role where you'll lead and support a team of social workers handling incoming referrals and undertaking assessments to safeguard and support children and families.

You’ll be responsible for managing performance, overseeing high-quality assessments, and ensuring statutory requirements are met. You’ll also be expected to chair strategy discussions, support newly qualified staff, and work closely with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes for children.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives under pressure and is confident in leading an assessment team in a large, diverse local authority.

What You’ll Need:

  • Social Work England Registration

  • Social Work Qualification

  • At least 5 years’ experience in children's services

  • Experience in duty, assessment, and managing social work teams

  • Strong decision-making, risk analysis, and leadership skills

  • Flexibility to travel locally when required
