Qualified Social Worker – Children with Disabilities – Merton

Location: London Borough of Merton
Pay/Salary: Up to £39.04 per hour (Umbrella)
Office Working: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
Contract: Locum

We are currently working with the London Borough of Merton to recruit an experienced Qualified Social Worker for their Children with Disabilities Team.

This role requires someone with previous Children with Disabilities experience who can confidently manage a statutory caseload, complete robust assessments and work directly with children, young people and their families. You'll work closely with partner agencies to ensure children receive coordinated support based on their individual needs.

Duties

• Managing a Children with Disabilities caseload.
• Completing high-quality assessments of children and their families.
• Developing, implementing and reviewing care plans.
• Undertaking direct work with children and young people, ensuring their wishes and feelings inform planning.
• Assessing risk and taking appropriate action to safeguard children.
• Managing statutory work across Children in Need and Child Protection where required.
• Working with families to promote resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
• Working closely with Education, Health, Police and other partner agencies.
• Preparing reports, chronologies and case records to a high standard.
• Preparing statements and applications for Family Court where required.
• Ensuring statutory work is progressed within appropriate timescales.
• Maintaining clear and accurate case recording.

What you need

• Social Work Qualification.
• Social Work England registration.
• Enhanced DBS (provided by us).
• Previous Children with Disabilities experience is essential.
• Strong experience within statutory Children's Social Care.
• Experience completing assessments and managing care plans.
• Good knowledge of Children in Need, Child Protection and Looked After Children procedures.
• Strong safeguarding and risk assessment skills.
• Experience of effective multi-agency working.
• Ability to attend the office 3 days per week.
