A Local Authority in East London is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Fostering Team in children's services. About the Role:

As a Qualified Social Worker in the Fostering Team, you will work closely with foster carers to provide support, supervision, and guidance. You will be responsible for assessing and approving prospective foster carers, ensuring they meet regulatory standards. Your role will also involve offering ongoing support and training to help foster carers provide safe, nurturing homes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out assessments, approvals, and reviews of foster carers to ensure high-quality placements.
• Provide support, supervision, and guidance to foster carers to help them meet the needs of children and young people in their care.
• Ensure compliance with fostering regulations, child protection legislation, and safeguarding best practices.
• Work closely with children’s services, carers, and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children in foster care.
• Promote foster carers' professional development through ongoing training and support.

Requirements:

• Qualified social worker with experience in children’s services, particularly in fostering or looked after children.
• Social Work England registered.
• Strong knowledge of fostering regulations and safeguarding practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and assessment skills.
• Ability to manage complex cases and work in a fast-paced environment.
