Qualified Social Worker – MASH – London

Pay/Salary: Up to £39.04 per hour (Umbrella)

We are currently working with the London Borough of Merton to find an experienced Qualified Social Worker for their Children’s MASH Team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy frontline service, working at the first point of contact to assess safeguarding concerns, identify risk and ensure children and families receive the right intervention at the right time.

You'll work closely with professionals across Children’s Services, Police, Health, Education and other partner agencies, gathering and analysing information to make timely and robust safeguarding decisions. This role requires strong assessment skills, professional curiosity and the ability to work confidently within a fast-paced multi-agency environment.

Duties

• Screening and assessing incoming referrals and safeguarding concerns relating to children and families.
• Gathering and analysing information from partner agencies to inform threshold and safeguarding decisions.
• Identifying risk, protective factors and appropriate pathways for children and families.
• Completing high-quality, analytical assessments and recommendations within statutory timescales.
• Working closely with Police, Health, Education and other professionals as part of a multi-agency approach.
• Supporting decisions around Section 17 and Section 47 interventions where appropriate.
• Ensuring children's wishes, feelings and lived experiences remain central to decision-making.
• Maintaining accurate and timely case recordings.
• Managing competing priorities effectively within a busy MASH environment.

What you need

• Social Work Qualification.
• Social Work England registration.
• Enhanced DBS (provided by us).
• Previous experience within a MASH, Front Door or Referral & Assessment Team.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Child Protection and statutory thresholds.
• Experience making confident risk and threshold decisions.
• Excellent assessment, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced multi-agency service.
