Sheldon Phillips is currently recruiting for a Kinship Assessment Social Worker to join the Children & Families Service in Staffordshire. This role is ideal for an experienced social worker with strong assessment skills, particularly in evaluating kinship placements, and ensuring the best outcomes for children in need of family-based care.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough kinship care assessments, including viability and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) assessments.
• Work closely with families, carers, and professionals to ensure suitable and safe placements for children.
• Prepare and present detailed analytical reports for court and panel hearings.
• Support kinship carers by providing guidance, intervention, and training where necessary.
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with statutory regulations and best practice guidelines.
   

Requirements:

• Social Work England (SWE) registration.
• Proven experience in kinship care assessments, fostering, or connected persons assessments.
• Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent report-writing skills with the ability to present clear, evidence-based assessments.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively in a multi-agency environment.
