Introduction

Lambeth Council is seeking a skilled and confident Senior Social Worker to join their Safeguarding Service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about high-quality safeguarding work, confident in managing complex risk, and able to support best practice across the team. Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of complex safeguarding cases including CP, CIN, and court.
  • Undertaking high-quality assessments, direct work, and risk analysis.
  • Leading on safety planning and multi-agency coordination.
  • Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to other social workers.
  • Preparing clear, evidence-based reports for conferences and proceedings.
  • Ensuring timely case recordings and meeting statutory expectations.
  • Contributing to team development and promoting best practice.

Candidate Requirements

  • SWE registration and right to work in the UK.
  • Significant safeguarding experience at a senior level.
  • Strong analytical, assessment, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage complex risk.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring colleagues.
  • Commitment to relationship-based, child-centred practice.
