Senior Social Worker – Assessment Team

Lambeth | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working

Lambeth Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Assessment Team. This is a fast-paced frontline role focused on completing high-quality assessments, responding to safeguarding concerns, and ensuring children and families receive timely and effective support.

You will work within a dynamic service, managing complex cases and supporting best practice while delivering relationship-based interventions to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

In this role, you will:

• Complete Child and Family Assessments within statutory timescales
• Undertake Section 47 enquiries and risk assessments
• Manage a complex caseload of children and families
• Respond to referrals and safeguarding concerns effectively
• Develop outcome-focused plans to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing
• Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including police, health, and education
• Produce high-quality reports and maintain accurate case recordings
• Provide support and guidance to less experienced social workers

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Social Work Qualification
• At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
• Strong experience within Assessment or Front Door services
• Confidence managing complex and high-risk cases
• Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
