Senior Social Worker / Assistant Team Manager – Child Protection Team - London

Location: London Borough of Hackney
Pay/Salary: up to £41.10 per hour
Office Working: Hybrid
Contract: Locum

We are currently working with the London Borough of Hackney to find a Senior Social Worker / Assistant Team Manager for their Child Protection team in Children's Services. With a stable management team and a mostly permanent workforce. Hackney is looking for someone with solid experience and the ability to support/guide less experienced social workers.

Duties

• Completing Section 47’s and section 17 enquiries
• Undertake Section 7and 37 reports, as well as attending Court, and providing analysis and evidence-based recommendations
• Long term engagement with families, including direct work, capturing the voice of the child
• Write conference reports and attend conferences, such as Core Group Meetings
• The ability to provide professional guidance, support and development opportunities and contribute to organisational development
• Knowledge of childcare legislation and understanding of statutory guidance and frameworks for children’s social work
• Supporting the Team Manager to oversee activities to ensure timely and efficient service delivery whilst adhering to best practice guidelines.

What you need

• Social Work Qualification
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced DBS (provided by us)
• Experience of service delivery which is culturally sensitive and responsive to the needs of a multicultural community
• Demonstrable experience of undertaking complex casework within a statutory children’s setting
• Significant post-qualifying social work experience in a Children and Families setting
