Hampshire County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Safeguarding – Family Help Team based in Havant. This is a locum opportunity paying up to £42/hr, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting children and families to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

About the Role

As a Senior Social Worker within the Family Help Team, you will:

Take a lead role in complex safeguarding cases, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.
Undertake child protection investigations, assessments, and planning.
Support families with a focus on early intervention and prevention, working collaboratively with multi-agency partners.
Provide guidance and support to junior team members and act as a point of escalation for challenging cases.
Deliver high-quality written reports, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and best practice standards.

What We’re Looking For

Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent).
Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Strong safeguarding and child protection experience, ideally within Family Help or similar teams.
Confident decision-making and assessment skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
