Location: London Borough of Barking and Dagenham

Position: Senior Social Worker – Family Support and Safeguarding

Hourly Rate: £38.50 per hour

 

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is currently seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Family Support and Safeguarding Team. This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone with frontline safeguarding experience in children’s services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage complex safeguarding cases for children and families
• Work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment, collaborating with other professionals and agencies
• Provide high-quality social work interventions, ensuring the safety and welfare of children
• Complete reports, assessments, and manage case files in accordance with statutory requirements and best practice
• Support and supervise junior staff where required, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained

Essential Experience:

• Experience in frontline safeguarding children teams is a must
• Strong knowledge of Children’s Social Work legislation, procedures, and frameworks
• Ability to manage complex cases with a focus on child protection and family support
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
