Ealing Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children in Need / Child Protection team. Located in West London, Ealing is a diverse and vibrant borough with a strong focus on safeguarding children and supporting families. The CIN/CP service works closely with families, partner agencies, and the community to ensure children’s needs are met, risk is managed effectively, and every child has the opportunity to thrive. Ealing has invested in training, reflective supervision, and robust practice models to ensure staff feel supported and valued.
Hold and manage a caseload of Children in Need and Child Protection cases
Undertake assessments, develop care plans, and implement interventions
Lead on safeguarding investigations and statutory visits
Chair core group and CIN meetings, ensuring timely and effective reviews
Work closely with multi-agency partners to promote positive change
Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced colleagues
Social Work England registration
Significant post-qualified experience in CIN/CP work
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989
Proven ability to manage risk and work in complex family situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
£39.04 per hour
Hybrid working – 3 days in the office, 2 from home
