Are you an experienced Social Work Practice Manager looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference? The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking a passionate individual like you to lead one of our Leaving Care Teams in Children's Services!

As a Social Work Practice Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and success of vulnerable children and young adults transitioning from care. You will oversee a dedicated Leaving Care Team, providing guidance, support, and supervision to social workers as they navigate complex cases and deliver high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help the Team Manager with, managing and supervising a team of social workers within the Leaving Care Team, ensuring effective caseload management and adherence to statutory requirements.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members, promoting a culture of excellence, compassion, and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess needs, develop plans, and implement interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and young adults leaving care.
  • Monitor performance, provide regular feedback, and facilitate continuous professional development for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements, maintaining high standards of practice and safeguarding principles.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant professional registration (SWE).
  • Substantial experience working within children's services, with a focus on leaving care.
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children's social care.
  • Commitment to promoting the well-being and rights of children and young adults leaving care.
