Introduction

Northampton Children's Trust is looking for a skilled Duty & Assessment Social Worker to join their fast-paced team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced social worker who thrives in frontline assessment work and is committed to making a difference in children's lives.

About the Role

As part of the Duty & Assessment Team, you will:

Conduct statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989
Work on a duty rota responding to new referrals and safeguarding concerns
Undertake Section 47 investigations where required
Work closely with families, schools, and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children
Prepare court reports, care plans, and attend case conferences when necessary
Manage a manageable caseload to ensure effective and timely interventions

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

Social Work England registration
Experience in Duty & Assessment, Referral & Assessment, or similar teams
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
Excellent report writing and assessment skills
