Social Worker

Bexley | Locum | £37.52 - £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working

Bexley Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Referral & Assessment Team. This is a frontline role focused on responding to referrals, assessing risk, and ensuring children and families receive timely and effective support through high-quality statutory interventions.

You will work within a fast-paced service, undertaking assessments and safeguarding work to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

In this role, you will:

• Undertake Child and Family Assessments
• Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
• Manage a varied caseload within a referral and assessment setting
• Assess risk and develop outcome-focused care plans
• Lead and participate in multi-agency meetings and strategy discussions
• Work directly with children and families to promote positive change
• Prepare high-quality reports and maintain accurate case recordings

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Social Work Qualification
• At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
• Strong experience within Referral & Assessment or Duty teams
• Confidence managing safeguarding and high-risk cases
• Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
