We are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join the Assessment Service at London Borough of Bexley. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated practitioner looking to work within a fast-paced frontline team, completing high-quality assessments and ensuring children and families receive timely and effective support.

Key Responsibilities

Completing Child and Family Assessments within statutory timescales
Undertaking Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries where required
Carrying out direct work with children and families to assess risk and need
Developing outcome-focused plans and recommendations
Working closely with multi-agency professionals to ensure effective safeguarding interventions
Attending strategy discussions, planning meetings, and case conferences
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case recordings and reports
Progressing cases appropriately to long-term teams or early help services where suitable

Candidate Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
Registered with Social Work England
Previous experience within an Assessment, Referral & Assessment, or Front Door service
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced frontline environment
Excellent assessment and communication skills
Enhanced DBS preferred
