Dudley Council is looking for an experienced and passionate Adolescence Social Worker to join a specialist service working with young people at risk of contextual safeguarding concerns, including exploitation, serious youth violence, and complex adolescent needs. This is a rewarding role for practitioners who are confident working beyond the family home and across community contexts.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with adolescents at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation, missing episodes, and serious youth violence
• Undertake assessments and interventions using a contextual safeguarding approach
• Build purposeful relationships with young people to reduce risk and promote positive outcomes
• Work closely with families, schools, police, and partner agencies
• Contribute to safety planning and risk management strategies
• Maintain high-quality case recording and reports in line with statutory requirements
• Attend strategy meetings, multi-agency panels, and professional forums

Candidate Requirements

• Social Work qualification (BA / MA / DipSW)
• SWE registration
• Experience working with adolescents within Children’s Services
• Strong understanding of exploitation, contextual safeguarding, and risk management
• Ability to engage resistant or hard-to-reach young people
• Confident working autonomously while contributing to a specialist team
