Bracknell Forest Council | Locum | Senior Social Worker – Duty & Assessment
Pay up to £42.00 per hour | Office Based

Role Overview:
Bracknell Forest Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Duty & Assessment Service. This is a non-hybrid role, where office presence is essential to fulfil the duty rota and provide effective frontline support.

You will play a key role in assessing and safeguarding children, working alongside a dedicated multi-agency network to deliver timely interventions that put children at the centre of decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out needs-led, child-focused assessments, producing outcome-driven plans.
• Undertake Child in Need assessments and Child Protection enquiries under Section 17 and Section 47.
• Manage a duty caseload including single assessments and some short-term work.
• Participate fully in the duty system, responding promptly to child protection concerns.
• Develop and maintain accurate, timely case records in line with policies, GDPR, and data protection requirements.
• Engage in regular reflective supervision, setting clear goals and intervention strategies.
• Work closely with professionals and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Proven experience in duty & assessment, safeguarding, and child protection
• Strong assessment, analysis, and report writing skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, office-based environment

Contract Details:

• Locum Senior Social Worker role
• Pay up to £42.00 per hour
• Office-based only – no hybrid option
