Barking and Dagenham Council are seeking passionate and skilled Social Workers to join their Assessment Team on a permanent basis. In this role, you’ll undertake assessments and interventions that ensure children’s safety and wellbeing are prioritised. You’ll work within a supportive environment that values reflective practice, manageable caseloads, and continuous professional development.

Role Overview:

• Undertake high-quality child and family assessments in line with statutory frameworks
• Work directly with children, families, and multi-agency partners to identify and manage risk
• Formulate and implement effective plans that promote positive outcomes
• Participate in duty rota and respond to new referrals efficiently
• Prepare detailed reports and present information to panels and the court where required
• Maintain accurate, timely, and evidence-based records

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Qualified Social Worker status (CQSW, DipSW, Degree, or equivalent)
• Experience in assessment, child protection, and care planning
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Commitment to reflective practice and continuous professional development
