Slough Children First is looking for an experienced and passionate Locum Social Worker to join our Assessment Service on a locum basis.

As part of a fast-paced and supportive frontline team, you will carry out high-quality assessments, ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, and work in close collaboration with families and partner agencies.

Your Role:

• Undertake Child and Family Assessments in line with statutory duties.

• Manage a caseload of children subject to Section 17 and Section 47.

• Carry out initial assessments, strategy discussions, and court work where required.

• Work closely with partner agencies to deliver timely and effective interventions.

• Use Signs of Safety and strengths-based approaches to engage families.

Requirements:

• Social Work England registration

• Minimum 3 years’ qualified experience in children’s frontline services

• Strong knowledge of legislation, safeguarding, and assessment frameworks

• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
