Full Time | Hybrid Working – 2–3 Days in the Office

Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking experienced Social Workers to join their Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) Teams on a locum basis. This role is ideal for practitioners committed to relationship-based practice and strengths-focused safeguarding work.

About the Role:
You will hold a mixed caseload across CIN and CP, ensuring timely and proportionate interventions that keep children safe while working collaboratively with families to promote sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of CIN and CP cases, including pre-proceedings work.
• Undertake Child and Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries.
• Develop, implement, and review outcome-focused care plans.
• Prepare high-quality reports for Legal Planning Meetings and Court where required.
• Lead multi-agency meetings including CIN reviews and Child Protection Conferences.
• Maintain clear, analytical case recordings on Mosaic in line with statutory timescales.

Practice Model:
Greenwich Council applies a Relationship-Based Practice model, supported by Signs of Safety tools. This approach focuses on direct, purposeful work with families, early risk identification, and building long-term safety plans that keep the child’s voice and lived experience central throughout intervention.

Requirements:

• Social Work England registration
• Proven experience in CIN and CP roles within a statutory setting
• Strong risk assessment, legal knowledge, and care planning skills
• Confident in court work and multi-agency partnership working
• Commitment to relationship-based, strengths-focused practice
