Social Worker – Child Protection

Enfield | Locum | £37.52 per hour | Hybrid Working

Enfield Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Child Protection Team. This is a frontline safeguarding role focused on managing risk, protecting vulnerable children, and supporting families through effective statutory interventions.

You will work within a supportive and high-performing service, delivering high-quality assessments and ensuring timely and outcome-focused care planning for children and families.

In this role, you will:

• Manage a caseload of Child Protection and Child in Need cases
• Undertake Section 47 enquiries and risk assessments
• Develop and review Child Protection plans
• Lead and participate in strategy discussions, conferences, and core group meetings
• Work directly with children and families to promote positive change
• Prepare high-quality reports for conferences and court where required
• Maintain accurate and analytical case recordings

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Social Work Qualification
• At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
• Strong experience within Child Protection teams
• Confidence managing complex and high-risk cases
• Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
