Locum Social Worker – Safeguarding Service

Croydon Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Service on a part-time locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner looking for flexibility while continuing to make a meaningful impact on children and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, CIN, and court proceedings
• Undertaking statutory safeguarding assessments and producing high-quality reports
• Completing Section 47 enquiries and risk assessments
• Attending and contributing to core group meetings, strategy meetings, and case conferences
• Working collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children
• Maintaining accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory guidance

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
• Strong experience within Safeguarding / Child Protection
• Confident working with court processes and legal frameworks
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team environment
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
