About the Role

The London Borough of Ealing is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Team.

This is a frontline statutory role where you will work with children and families subject to safeguarding concerns, ensuring that risks are appropriately managed and that children are protected and supported to achieve positive outcomes.

You will manage a varied caseload including Child Protection, Child in Need, and court work, and will play a key role in delivering timely and effective interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of children subject to Child Protection and Child in Need plans
  • Undertake Section 47 investigations and safeguarding enquiries
  • Complete comprehensive risk assessments and develop care plans
  • Prepare reports for court proceedings, conferences, and reviews
  • Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, core groups, and child protection conferences
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including health, education, and police
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in line with statutory requirements

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience within Safeguarding or Child Protection teams
  • Strong knowledge of Children Act 1989/2004 and safeguarding legislation
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional decisions
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
