Enfield Council is seeking experienced Locum Social Workers to join their Assessment Service, offering excellent hourly rates, flexible hybrid working, and strong management support. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established, supportive authority committed to high-quality frontline practice and excellent outcomes for children and families.

You will be responsible for undertaking timely statutory assessments, completing Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries, and progressing cases through the front door with a strong focus on safeguarding and early intervention.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory assessments in line with Children Act 1989 and Working Together guidance
Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries
Progress cases efficiently through the Assessment pathway
Conduct home visits, direct work, and safety planning
Prepare high-quality reports and assessments
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
Maintain accurate and timely case recordings

Candidate Requirements

Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
Recent experience within Assessment / Front Door / Referral & Assessment teams
Strong understanding of safeguarding, thresholds, and statutory frameworks
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, organisation, and report-writing skills
