Social Worker – Family Safeguarding

Wandsworth | Permanent | Up to £52,767 per annum + Benefits | Hybrid Working

Wandsworth Council is seeking passionate and experienced Social Workers to join their growing Family Safeguarding Service. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking authority where relationships, creativity, and meaningful impact are at the heart of everything you do.

Working within a family-led, systemic model, you will support children and families to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve long-term positive outcomes. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multi-agency environment where your voice is valued and your practice can truly make a difference.

In this role, you will:

• Manage a caseload across Child in Need, Child Protection, and care proceedings
• Build strong, relationship-based practice with children and families
• Undertake assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
• Work within a multi-agency team including mental health, substance misuse, and domestic abuse specialists
• Contribute to a systemic and restorative model of practice
• Participate in regular supervision and reflective practice
• Support families to create sustainable change and improved outcomes

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Social Work Qualification
• Completion of ASYE
• Experience within children’s social care (CIN/CP/Court work)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Commitment to systemic, strengths-based practice

• Salary up to £52,767 per annum
• £1,000 retention bonus (every 2 years of service)
