Social Worker – Family Safeguarding Team (FST)

Guildford | Locum | Up to £42 per hour (Umbrella) | Hybrid Working

Guildford Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team (FST). You will work with children and families where there are safeguarding concerns, delivering high-quality assessments, planning, and interventions that reduce risk and support positive, sustainable change.

In this role, you’ll manage a varied caseload across Child in Need and Child Protection, working closely with multi-agency partners using a strengths-based, relationship-focused approach. You’ll contribute to timely decision-making, clear care planning, and effective risk management to improve outcomes for children and families.

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Social Work Qualification
• Experience within Family Safeguarding, Child Protection, and Child in Need
• Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
• Confidence managing risk and working to statutory timescales
• Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies
