Social Worker - Fostering

Camden | Locum | £36 per hour | Hybrid Working (3 days in office)

Camden Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Family and Friends Fostering Team. This is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week in the office expected of the successful candidate.

You will be responsible for completing kinship assessments, including Connected Carers and Special Guardianship assessments, as well as supervising and supporting approved foster carers. The role requires a confident and experienced supervising social worker who can manage a mixed caseload of fostering and kinship cases, ensuring high-quality practice in line with statutory guidance and fostering regulations.

In this role, you’ll work closely with children, carers, and partner agencies to promote stability, permanence, and positive outcomes for children. You’ll apply a child-focused and strengths-based approach, ensuring assessments, supervision, and support are thorough, timely, and reflective of best practice.

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Recognised Social Work Qualification
• Significant experience within fostering and kinship social work
• Experience completing Connected Carers and Special Guardianship assessments
• Strong experience as a Supervising Social Worker
• Ability to manage a mixed caseload of fostering and kinship cases
• Strong assessment, report-writing, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work flexibly, including 3 days per week in the office
