Introduction

Haringey Council is seeking an experienced and committed Social Worker to join its Child Protection Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established service that places children’s safety, wellbeing, and voice at the centre of practice. The role is suited to a practitioner who is confident managing risk, working with complex families, and delivering effective safeguarding interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Child Protection and Children in Need cases.
  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries and develop robust safety plans.
  • Complete high-quality assessments, direct work, and risk analysis.
  • Work closely with children, families, and partner agencies to reduce risk.
  • Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, core groups, conferences, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements.

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration and right to work in the UK.
  • Strong experience in Child Protection and statutory children’s services.
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to child-centred, strengths-based practice.
