Introduction

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Practitioner to join the Children with Disabilities Team at Kent County Council, operating from the Sittingbourne office. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly regarded service that is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holding and overseeing complex cases involving disabled children and young people.
  • Offering specialist knowledge and guidance to social workers within the team.
  • Leading on assessments, care planning, and safeguarding interventions.
  • Chairing multi-agency meetings and supporting decision-making processes.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred practice aligned with statutory requirements.
  • Supporting junior staff through mentoring, reflective practice, and practice development.
  • Contributing to performance improvement and service development initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • SWE registration and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Significant post-qualified experience within Children’s Services, ideally including CWD.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing complex cases.
  • Ability to mentor, guide, and support other practitioners.
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills.
