Social Worker - MASH

Wokingham | Locum | £38–£39 per hour | Hybrid (Approx. 3 Days Office-Based)

Wokingham Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). You’ll work as part of a co-located, multidisciplinary team to screen, analyse, and make timely decisions on referrals, ensuring children’s needs are understood and acted upon in line with statutory guidance.

This is a hybrid role, with approximately 50% office presence required (usually around 3 days per week). A flexible approach may be needed depending on service requirements.
Please note: candidates must not have worked permanently in the Southeast region within the last 3 months.

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Social Work Qualification
• Strong assessment and decision-making skills
• Experience working in MASH, safeguarding, or frontline children’s services
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment
• Confidence in recording information accurately and proportionately
• Flexibility to work both office-based and from home as required

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and screen referrals, gathering clear and proportionate information
• Work collaboratively with co-located partners to form timely decisions
• Record all information accurately and in line with Wokingham procedures
• Ensure practice aligns with statutory guidance and performance standards
• Provide advice, support, and signposting to professionals and families
• Ensure children, families, and carers are involved where appropriate, respecting cultural and communication needs
