Children’s Social Worker – Safeguarding
Surrey County Council (Reigate) | Locum | Up to £42 per hour | Hybrid (3 Days Office-Based)

Surrey County Council is looking for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their Safeguarding Team in Reigate.

Surrey’s approach focuses on promoting the upbringing of children within their families wherever this is compatible with their welfare.

Social workers are supported to develop high levels of skill in motivational practice, working in true partnership with families to identify the aspects of their lives they wish to change and to provide the right help at the right time.

Role Overview:

• Manage a caseload of Child in Need, Child Protection, and PLO/court cases
• Undertake high-quality assessments and create effective outcome-based plans
• Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and partner agencies
• Use motivational practice approaches to empower families to make positive changes
• Maintain accurate, evidence-based records and contribute to care planning and reviews

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Qualified Social Worker status (CQSW, DipSW, Degree, or equivalent)
• At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in safeguarding or child protection
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment

Working Arrangements:

• Hybrid working model – 3 days per week in the office (Reigate)
• Supportive management and structured supervision
• Commitment to manageable caseloads and reflective practice
