We are currently recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join the Assessment Service at Surrey County Council, offering an excellent rate of £42 per hour. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act
• Complete high-quality, timely assessments to identify risk, need, and protective factors
• Carry out home visits, direct work with children and families, and multi-agency liaison
• Participate in strategy discussions, legal planning meetings, and child protection enquiries
• Produce clear, analytical reports and assessments to support informed decision-making
• Maintain accurate, timely case recording in line with statutory and local authority requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker (Degree or equivalent)
• Registered with Social Work England
• Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience within statutory children’s services
• Strong background in frontline assessment and safeguarding
• Sound knowledge of UK children’s legislation, statutory guidance, and assessment frameworks
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills
