Job Title: Supervising Social Worker (Permanent)
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £39,000 – £44,000 per annum (depending on experience) + travel bonus of up to £250 per month

Key Responsibilities

Delivery

• Support and supervise a caseload of foster carers, providing day-to-day guidance.

• Liaise with placing authorities to ensure care plans are delivered effectively.

• Undertake foster carer reviews, assessments (BAAF Form F1), and matching processes.

• Participate in recruitment, training, and fostering events.

Quality

• Prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with fostering regulations.

• Actively contribute to safeguarding, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.

• Attend supervision, team meetings, and training to develop best practice.

Development

• Play an active role in shaping and developing a new fostering service.

• Contribute ideas, creativity, and energy to drive improvement and growth.

• Deliver and support training for foster carers.

• Build strong relationships with carers, local authorities, and external partners.

Finance

• Work responsibly with agency resources.

• Ensure compliance with expense and finance policies.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

• Experience within fostering or children’s services (IFA experience desirable).

• Strong communication and assessment skills, with a proactive approach.

• A desire to contribute to the development of a new, ambitious fostering service.

• Commitment to safeguarding and achieving positive outcomes for children.
