Team Manager – Long Term Team – Tower Hamlets Council

  • £45.20 per hour
  • Hybrid working – 2 to 3 days a week in the office

Tower Hamlets Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead their Long Term Team within Children’s Services. This is an excellent opportunity for an established manager to oversee complex safeguarding and care planning cases, ensuring children and families receive consistent, high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers within the Long Term Service
  • Oversee the delivery of care planning, safeguarding, and permanency work for children and families
  • Provide reflective supervision, mentoring, and guidance to staff
  • Ensure statutory requirements and best practice standards are consistently met
  • Work closely with partner agencies to deliver effective multi-agency safeguarding
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement within Children’s Services

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Substantial post-qualified experience in children’s social care, including management experience
  • Strong knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and care planning legislation
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of social workers
  • Excellent organisational, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
