We are currently working with the London Borough of Harrow to recruit an experienced Team Manager for their First Response Team.

This is a key frontline management role, leading Social Workers, Senior Practitioners and other Social Care staff working with children requiring statutory intervention. Duties

• Managing and supervising Social Workers, Senior Practitioners and other Social Care staff.
• Providing clear management oversight, case direction and regular professional supervision.
• Ensuring referrals are responded to promptly and children most in need are appropriately prioritised.
• Overseeing high-quality statutory assessments within required timescales.
• Managing complex and high-risk cases involving children in need and children requiring protection.
• Overseeing work involving Looked After Children and public care proceedings.
• Quality assuring assessments, plans, casework and reports.
• Ensuring every child has an up-to-date, outcome-focused plan.
• Monitoring workloads, allocation, performance and statutory timescales.
• Providing oversight of reports for Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Reviews and Court proceedings.
• Taking and recording key managerial decisions on complex casework.
• Working closely with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
• Supporting staff development, performance management and continuous improvement across the team.

What you need

• Social Work Qualification.
• Social Work England registration.
• Enhanced DBS (provided by us).
• Significant post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Work.
• Previous Team Manager experience within frontline statutory Children's Social Work.
• Strong experience across assessment, Child in Need and Child Protection.
• Experience managing and supervising Social Workers undertaking statutory work.
• Strong knowledge of Children's Social Care legislation, regulations and statutory responsibilities.
• Experience of performance management and quality assurance.
• Strong assessment, analytical and decision-making skills.
• Experience working effectively with multi-agency partners.
