Position: Qualified Social Worker
Team: Safeguarding
Contract: Locum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £39.00 per hour
Location: 3 Knowsley Place, Duke Street, Bury
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days in the office per week


Sheldon Phillips are working with Bury Council who are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Safeguarding Team.

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established, stable service within a supportive authority. The Safeguarding Team works with children and families where there are child protection concerns, ensuring that effective assessments, interventions and planning are in place to achieve positive outcomes for children at risk of harm.


What You Can Expect:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments under Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989.

  • Develop and implement Child Protection and Child in Need plans.

  • Undertake court work and prepare high-quality reports for legal proceedings.

  • Participate in core groups, strategy meetings, and case conferences.

  • Build effective, strength-based relationships with children and families.

  • Maintain accurate case recordings on Liquidlogic in line with statutory requirements.


Requirements:

  • SWE Registration and recognised Social Work qualification.

  • Demonstrable post-qualified experience within Children’s Safeguarding.

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory frameworks.

  • Skilled in assessment, planning, and direct work with children and families.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
