About the Role
Merton Council is seeking an Experienced Social Worker to join its Assessment & Intervention Service on a locum basis. You will carry out high-quality assessments, manage a varied caseload, and ensure timely, child-centred decision-making. The service is fast-paced but well supported, with a strong emphasis on reflective practice and safe, effective intervention.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete robust assessments and Section 47 enquiries.

• Manage a diverse caseload and progress cases effectively.

• Work closely with families, partners, and other agencies to ensure the best outcomes.

• Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for conferences and court where required.

• Contribute to safeguarding planning and risk management decisions.

• Maintain accurate case records and work within statutory timescales.
