Fostering Team Manager | Five Rivers Child Care | £44,856.50 - £50,881 per annum + £5,100 Car Allowance

Sheldon Phillips are working in partnership with Five Rivers Child Care to recruit an experienced and motivated Fostering Team Manager to join their established North Fostering Service based in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Team Manager or an experienced Senior/Advanced Practitioner looking to take the next step into management within a highly respected Social Enterprise that is committed to transforming children's lives every day.

Based from the Doncaster office with flexibility to work from home, you will work closely with the Service Manager to support the continued growth and development of the fostering service across Doncaster and the surrounding areas. This role offers the opportunity to influence service development, support foster carer recruitment and retention, and lead a dedicated team focused on achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.

Role Overview

As Fostering Team Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight to an established fostering team, ensuring high-quality support is provided to foster carers and children. You will play a key role in driving service improvement, overseeing referrals and duty functions, supporting practice development, and contributing to the strategic growth of the service.

This is an exciting but demanding leadership opportunity requiring vision, energy, and strong management skills to continue building upon an already successful fostering provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and support a fostering team to deliver high-quality services to children, young people and foster carers.
  • Oversee the day-to-day duty and referral process, ensuring timely and effective decision-making.
  • Support the recruitment, assessment, approval and retention of foster carers across the region.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to implement service development plans and growth strategies.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and performance management to team members.
  • Ensure fostering practice remains compliant with relevant legislation, regulations and national minimum standards.
  • Develop strong partnerships with local authorities, partner agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor service performance and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Attend foster carer support groups, training events and management meetings across the region.
  • Promote positive outcomes and permanency for children through effective leadership and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Social Work qualification.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience within fostering services or wider children's social care services.
  • Previous management, senior practitioner or advanced practitioner experience.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and foster carers.
  • Management or leadership qualification, or willingness to undertake relevant training.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region.
  • Right to work in the UK.
