Lead Child Protection Practitioner – Coventry City Council

Location: Coventry (East Locality)
Pay/Salary: up to £41.42 per hour
Office Working: 2-3 Days per week
Contract: Locum

We are currently working with Coventry City Council to find an experienced Social Worker for their senior specialist safeguarding role within Coventry’s Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT), providing expert leadership and oversight of child protection practice across partner agencies. You will help shape what the LCPP role becomes and influence the development of the MACPT model as it evolves. You will have the opportunity to bring your expertise, challenge established ways of working and work alongside colleagues across social care, police, health and wider partners to design and embed innovative approaches to child protection practice.

Duties

• Promoting high-quality, consistent and legally compliant safeguarding practice, providing professional leadership on complex child protection matters and strengthening robust, evidence-informed multi-agency decision-making to protect children at risk of significant harm.
• Provide authoritative safeguarding advice, chair strategy discussions, oversee Section 47 enquiries and support practitioners and partners to make timely, proportionate and defensible decisions.
• Ensure that assessments and interventions are informed by the child’s lived experience, family circumstances, strengths and risks.
• Play a central role in building the capability of the wider workforce, strengthening professional practice and developing a culture of learning, challenge and continuous improvement.

• Social Work Qualification
• Social Work England registration
• Enhanced DBS (provided by us)
