Job Title: Quality Assurance & Audit Lead – Children’s Services
Location: Slough (Hybrid – minimum 3 days in-office)
Employer: Slough Children First
Contract: Locum ongoing contract
Hourly rate: £42/hr

Are you someone who thrives on challenge, loves digging into the detail, and genuinely wants to see better outcomes for children? Slough Children First are on the lookout for a Quality Assurance & Audit Lead who’s ready to bring clarity, insight and energy to our improvement journey.

This is a key role within our Quality Assurance team – you’ll be at the heart of understanding what we’re doing well, where we need to grow, and how we can better support the children and families we work with.

What the role involves:

  • Leading the QA and audit function across all of our children’s services

  • Embedding reflective practice, learning, and continuous improvement

  • Supporting frontline managers and practitioners to actively engage with our audit programme

  • Working closely with the Principal Social Worker and Head of Quality Assurance

  • Presenting evidence-based insights and impact reports to senior leaders and partnership boards

You’ll be working right across the service, supporting and constructively challenging practice to help us make better, more informed decisions – and ultimately improve the lives of the children we serve.

What we’re looking for:

  • A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England

  • A strong grasp of auditing, QA processes and using data to drive service improvement

  • Experience working across children’s services with a clear understanding of safeguarding and the impact of social work practice

  • Someone who can confidently build relationships, influence others and work across all levels of an organisation

Why join Slough?

We’re serious about change. And we’re committed to creating a working environment where your voice is heard, your skills are valued, and you’re supported to develop professionally. We offer:

  • Flexible and hybrid working (3+ days in the office)

  • A supportive, diverse and welcoming team

  • Training and development opportunities

  • A focus on work/life balance – without compromising on impact

Slough is also a brilliant location – less than 20 minutes from London by train, surrounded by beautiful countryside, and ranked one of the top places to live and work in the UK. Easy transport links and a genuinely diverse community make it a place where you can feel connected – both personally and professionally.
