Senior Social Worker – Assessment Team

Pay Rate: £33.30 per hour
Hours: 36.5 per week
Contract: Locum


About the Role

Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join its Assessment Team.
You will work with children and families at the front door of services, completing assessments and identifying the appropriate level of intervention to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to manage complex cases while supporting colleagues and contributing to high-quality practice within the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Child and Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries.
  • Manage complex safeguarding cases and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Develop and implement effective safety and support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, and police.
  • Undertake direct work with children and families.
  • Prepare high-quality reports for conferences, reviews, and court proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case recordings.
