Senior Social Worker – Adults Locality Team – London

Location: Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames – Chessington & Surbiton Hub
Pay/Salary: Up to £260.85 per day / £36.23 per hour (Umbrella)
Office Working: Hybrid – 2 days in the office, 3 days remote (flexible)
Contract: Locum | 36 hours per week

We are currently working with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames to find an experienced Senior Social Worker for their Chessington & Surbiton Hub Locality Team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Adults Social Worker looking to take on additional leadership and practice responsibilities while remaining within frontline Adult Social Care.

Working closely with the Team Manager, you'll help oversee the day-to-day running of the service, provide professional support and supervision to Social Workers and Support Coordinators, and ensure high standards of casework, safeguarding and risk management. You'll also deputise for the Team Manager when required.

Duties

• Supporting the Team Manager with the effective running of the Adults Locality Team.
• Providing professional and managerial supervision to Social Workers and Support Coordinators.
• Providing advice and guidance on Adult Safeguarding, care management and complex legal issues.
• Monitoring casework quality, risk assessments and professional decision-making.
• Deputising for the Team Manager when required to ensure continuity of service.
• Supporting effective allocation of cases based on complexity, experience and practitioner skill level.
• Monitoring performance, case recording and service standards across the team.
• Supporting staff development, appraisals, performance management and professional registration requirements.
• Working closely with Kingston Hospital, ICB, Continuing Healthcare and other Adult Social Care partners.
• Supporting effective case transfers and closures.
• Contributing to budget management and ensuring commissioned services deliver appropriate outcomes and value.
• Promoting person-centred practice and positive outcomes for adults with care and support needs.
• Helping drive service improvement and high standards of practice across the team.

What you need

• Social Work Qualification.
• Social Work England registration.
• Enhanced DBS (provided by us).
• Significant experience within statutory Adult Social Work.
• Strong knowledge of Adult Social Care legislation, policies and procedures.
• Strong Adult Safeguarding, risk management and care management experience.
• Experience providing professional guidance, supervision or support to other practitioners.
• Confidence supporting the management and performance of a Social Work team.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• Strong partnership-working skills across Health, Social Care, voluntary and commissioned services.
• Previous Senior Social Worker or similar leadership experience would be highly beneficial.
