Senior Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention

Lambeth | Locum | £39.04 per hour | Hybrid Working

Lambeth Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Assessment & Intervention Team. This is a key frontline role focused on completing timely assessments, managing risk, and delivering effective interventions to safeguard children and support families.

You will work within a fast-paced service, managing complex cases and supporting less experienced colleagues, while contributing to strong, relationship-based practice and positive outcomes.

In this role, you will:

• Manage a complex caseload within Assessment & Intervention
• Undertake Section 17 and Section 47 assessments
• Lead on safeguarding processes and risk management
• Develop and review outcome-focused care plans
• Work closely with multi-agency partners to support children and families
• Provide guidance and support to less experienced Social Workers
• Prepare high-quality reports and maintain accurate case recordings

What You’ll Need:

• Social Work England Registration
• Social Work Qualification
• At least 3 years’ post-qualified experience in children’s social care
• Strong experience within Assessment & Intervention or Duty & Assessment teams
• Confidence managing complex and high-risk cases
• Ability to support and mentor others within the team
• Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills
