Position: Senior Social Worker
Team: Children in Care & Care Leavers
Contract: Locum, 3 Months +
Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: £33.30 per hour + mileage
Location: The Grange Centre, DE14 2ER (Free parking available)
Working Pattern: Hybrid working – 2 days in the office per week

Sheldon Phillips are working with Staffordshire County Council to recruit a Senior Social Worker for their Children in Care and Care Leavers Team in Burton Upon Trent. Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of children in care and care leavers, ensuring care plans reflect their needs and aspirations
Undertake visits, reviews and assessments to support permanence and independence planning
Build and maintain positive relationships with young people, families, and partner agencies
Prepare and present reports for statutory reviews and court where required
Ensure all work is recorded accurately and in line with statutory and local policies
Requirements:
Social Work England registration
Degree in Social Work or equivalent
Post-qualified experience within Children in Care / Leaving Care
Strong safeguarding, assessment, and care planning skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle
